When moving to Specified Skilled Worker No.2, you will have benefits commensurate with your abilities and skills such as there is no limit to the period of work for Specified Skilled Worker No. 2. Therefore, by continuing to renew the residence status of Specified Skilled Worker No. 2, it may be possible to meet the requirement of "residing in Japan continuously for 10 years or more in principle", which is one of the requirements for obtaining permanent residence. In addition, while Specified Skilled Worker No. 1 is basically not allowed to bring your family along, for Specified Skilled Worker No. 2, if you meet the requirements, you can bring your family to Japan. The family you bring with you will need to obtain a dependent visa. However, the family members you can bring are limited to your spouse and children. Relatives, parents, and siblings are not allowed.

◆ Outline of Specified Skilled Worker No.2
Specified Skilled Worker No.2 is a status of residence to engage in skilled work. This definition differs from Specified Skilled Worker No.1, which is "work requiring skills that require a considerable degree of knowledge or experience. To put it simply, Specified Skilled Worker No. 1 is for those with 3 to 5 years of experience in the field and Specified Skilled Worker No. 2 is for those who can take charge of a leader or manager class.

・Specified Skilled Worker No. 2 evaluation test route （特定技能２号評価試験ルート）
① Level 3 of Business Career Examination (ビジネス・キャリア検定3級取得)
② Specified Skilled Worker No.2 evaluation test in Manufacturing (製造分野特定技能2号評価試験の合格)
③ At least 3 years of practical experience in the manufacturing industry of a company based in Japan. (日本国内に拠点を持つ企業の製造業の現場における3年以上の実務経験を有すること)

① Skilled Test Level 1 (技能検定１級取得)
② At least 3 years of practical experience in the manufacturing industry of a company based in Japan. (日本国内に拠点を持つ企業の製造業の現場における3年以上の実務経験を有すること)

(1) Mechanical metal processing
➞ Casting, forging, die casting, machining, metal stamping, ironwork, factory sheet metal, finishing, plastic molding, machine inspection, machine maintenance, electrical equipment assembly, painting, welding, and industrial packaging.
(3) Metal surface treatment
➞ Plating, aluminum anodizing treatment
